Actually, forget blood-sucking, these puzzles are soul-sucking. You
need some serious brain-wracking skills to succeed at Dracula 3 and
follow The Path of the Dragon. Fans of the now-trilogy will note that
this was not so in the first game, and in fact our reviewer stated that
the ease was probably "dead on par with where 95% of America would like
it to be." Perhaps this sets me squarely in that 95% camp, but the
third game has ramped the difficulty up to the point where only
hardcore adventurers need apply.

The extreme mind-bogglingness
is a bit unfortunate, since the game looks great. It's so nice to have
a detailed environment that you can view in 360 degrees with
mouse-look. That said, detailed environments can sometimes work against
you in a game like this, where you want to be able to touch everything
so you can use things that might make sense to you, but aren't actually
the solution to the puzzle and hence, can't be interacted with. I'm
looking at you, microscope. The Myst-like jumps from screen to screen
are actually better than animating something, since the few times there
are mini cut-scenes, you really have no interest in seeing them
multiple times anyways, and they're annoying to have to skip. Sound is
also well-done, with voice actors whose accents won't send you
shrieking for the -- well, that is if you can hear them over all the
shrieking you're already doing in frustration at these puzzles.
